I deleted someone from my list when I got first a user unknown error message and
then a no host message.  the listserv notified me that she had been sent a
messaage that I (listowner) had deleted her.
 
Two days later...i started getting daily monitoring reports from the listserver.
For her!  She is supposedly gone from the list!  Why are "they" bothering?
