I wasn't trying to change the notebook keyword but that's what
listserv generated it's error on.

value of lower order ASCII characters (fairly standard in a lot of computer
manuals and how-to books) you can use a particular key sequence, using
the number pad or the numerals at the top of the keyboard.

Well it finally occured to me that maybe some errors had creeped
into the header so that the ASCII wasn't what it appeared to be.
I fetched a fresh copy of the header, edited the line I wanted
and replaced it.

BUT for future reference whould using hex values in a SINGLE
line of the header work, or does the whole thing need to be typed
in hex?

Thanks,
