L-Soft's LISTSERV Choice Awards - The Mailys - recognizes opt-in email lists that make a difference. Thomas notes that The Mailys nominees to date are just nine among more than 450,000 lists. Yet even from this small sampling, "We see people networking and discussing ways to do their work better, sharing tips and support as they cope with a major health issue, saving blind dogs from euthanasia, talking about their favorite authors, sports teams and cars, and grieving the loss of a pet with people who truly 'get it'."
The Mailys is open for nominations through December 2013. A series of monthly online ballots determines the five finalists eligible for the grand prize. "The September voting winner and first finalist is DEERHOUND-L - congratulations! There are eight other email lists already nominated and now only four more chances for a list to qualify as a finalist. What's your favorite email discussion list or newsletter? Get it into the running - nominate it," Thomas said.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of L-Soft, the company behind LISTSERV email list management software, one randomly selected nominator will win a trip to Stockholm, Sweden, and meet with Thomas. The grand prize winner will also meet the inventor.
