While you certainly can use Gmail as your mail client for Yahoo, doing so is likely to make the problem worse, not better. The DMARC policy is invoked when the From header of an email contains @yahoo.com, but the email was not sent from a Yahoo server. If you are using Gmail as your Yahoo client and reply to an email sent to your Yahoo account, the reply email will have your Yahoo address in the From header, but will be sent from a Gmail server. So now *all* of your Yahoo emails will be bounced by Yahoo's DMARC policy, not just those forwarded to a discussion list by a Listserv.
