I've got autodelete set on all my lists now...as my main job is errors
manager I have found it very useful.  I just cleared 25 autodeletes
(mostly .com addresses) from the account I use to manage errors. They
were all bad addresses.  I don't have actual count but I think that the
autodelete function has saved me from 1,000's of bounces that I would
have had to manually clear.
