LISTSERV doesn't attempt to interpret error texts - it's a hopeless task.
Instead it uses the numeric codes. If the code says "this address doesn't
exist", LISTSERV  deletes the recipient.  It just can't second  guess the
sanity of the system issuing this diagnostic.
