On the relatively small [850 subscribers] list Travel-L, I have set
Renewal= 4-monthly to roughly match an academic year cut up Sep-Dec,
Jan-Apr, May-Aug. If I set a problem account to nomail, at worst it
will clutter up the subscriber list for 4 months. Perhaps this is
wasteful of the disk resources used for the list, but I see a lot of
transient errors that are, and "host unknown" that becomes "known" again
within a few weeks. Having renewal/confirmation 3 times a year, plus
the monitoring report and auto-delete has made my life as an owner/manager
much, much easier. However, my experience running travel-L has only been
about 1 year so I have a lot to learn--like how to find a replacement :-)
