Dan,

Sorry about the delay.

First of all, here's how to reach the template you'll want to edit (it isn't
in fact named for the list, so I apologize as well for that mistake).

After logging in, you'll see a menu bar where List Management is displayed
on the left; click on it and hold to invoke its submenu. Then click on
Customization and hold. Then, to the right of that word, click on the
submenu option reading Mail Templates. In the Edit Template screen that
then appears, locate the template named WWW_INDEX; after selecting it to
make it editable, copy this template so that you can paste it into a pair
of files, one of them to serve as a backup, on your hard drive (that is,
although for a trivial change you could do all the editing in the form at
the Web site, under the circumstances you'll want to edit off-line instead,
later uploading the edited version by pasting into the form and clicking
where needed).

Now here is an idea of what the display might look like for your users:

***

XYZ List
Mailing List for Discussion of ZYX

Post to the list (subscribers only)

Create a password
(Note: You must have a password before you can read or search the archives,
or change your list options via this site.)

Subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options
(Note: Current subscribers who want to change address or delivery options
can create a password and use the "change options" link.)

List Archives (click here to search the archives)

***

And here is how the welcome message might point them there.

***

All of your delivery options can be changed on the Web site. The address
where you are subscribed can be changed there. The list's message archives
and current posts are also available on the site. Here is the URL:

***

Then just specify that URL (which can end with the list name followed by
".html" or otherwise do the job).
