I run a large philosophy list, and take the line that it exists, in
part, to keep people informed about Conferences, Jobs, Periodicals
and new interesting books. All these announcements have financial
implications, and some are plainly advertisements.
 
Do people think that it is OK to accept announcements from publishers?
On the one hand, this is exactly the information we want. On the other,
it's obviously commercial.
 
Where do other listowners draw their lines?
