We've been having a discussion about From: lines on moderated
lists. When I forward on EDTECH messages, the moderator's
address appears in an Approved-by: line, the list address in
the Sent: and Reply-to: lines, and the original poster's
address in the From: line.

This happened both when EDTECH was at the same node as the
moderator, and when it was at a different location.

But some of our off-site moderator's are finding that when
THEY forward messages to their lists, LISTSERV insists on
putting the moderator's address in the From: line instead
of the original poster's address. The original poster's
address then gets lost in an x-From: or other line that
is stripped by many mail readers.

So people have more trouble figuring out who posted the mail.
In some cases, we'd like to get the original sender into
the From: line.

We're fairly sure that there's nothing that can be done
with Eudora or EMC2 mailers. But some say that ANY off-site
mailer will cause LISTSERV to put the Moderator in the From:
line, and there is no way to fix it.

Does anyone have a simple guide for what conditions will
generate what sort of From: lines -- and any settings that
can help get them the way we want them?

Thanks for your help.
