The "underlying-problem" is that the list of valid BITNET nodes changes
monthly, in order to reflect additions/deletions.
 
So, as of the update for 'VERS9608' (August 1996),
several subscribers to the HEGEL list have IDs
which point to former(!) BITNET sites, e.g., 'CWRU' has disconnected.
 
One of the "privileges" of list-ownership is the ability to remove "invalid"
IDs from the mailing-list.  This privilege needs to be exercised.

If "auto-delete" was enabled, LISTSERV would have deleted the now-invalid IDs.
