One can have "religions" other than yours, including fanatical dedication
to a particular system, be it a computer operating system, a political
system, a gardening system, etc.  The fanatics, in whichever system,
are not open to reason.

By the way, what are "Benedictine Oblates", and what is "Benedictine
Spiritually"?  You'll need to send the reply to those questions off-list
as such things are not appropriate to this list.
(I do not see how mentioning your order, or its goals, has anything to do
with the question you asked, nor replies posted to this list, unless you
did so to point out that your people are as unreasoning as most else.)
