Yes.  The two who were asked to confirm were using a web browser as their
email client.  There have been so many attempts to make mischief by sending
commands with forged return addresses using the mail programs built into
the browsers that L-Soft decided to require confirmation of all commands
sent from web browsers.

My first reaction when I heard about this was that it was very unfair.  But
I also see the need for it.  Our campus labs have both Netscape and IE on
all the machines.  I've received all sorts of strange mail from lab
machines.  Eudora is also on the machines, but for some reason, it doesn't
seem to be used for as much mischief.
