Depends entirely upon what you mean by "serious subscribers."  If you mean
the subscribers who have been on since day one, yes, they will probably put
up with a great deal.  If you mean newer subscribers who want only the
serious, professional stuff (one interpretation of "serious subscriber")
they won't put up with anything.  And then you have those at institutions
which only grudgingly allow their people to subscribe to professional
lists and if there is any funny bussiness, that's it, no lists.
