I have little sympathy for organizations that insist on using braindead
software. If Internet mail is an "afterthought" then adopters pay the
consequences. I have yet to discover anything cc:Mail or MS Mail do that
Eudora Pro doesn't do more intuitively and for less. Are those big name
(IBM and Microsoft) mail packages bundled for free with other stuff, or do
corporate managers think that bigger vendors mean better software?

I think it would be more interesing to simply ask users to request that
their IS managers install mail software that is Internet
functional--there's plenty enough available.

If those big name mailers strip most of the headers, how well can they be
configured to filter regardless of what list owners do?

The point is that it DOES NOT work, at least not entirely. IBM's PROFs
"works," but have you ever tried to use it for Internet mail (for
masochists only).

Qualcomm and most other vendors will negotiate when 600 registered users
are an issue (Eudora Pro isn't much more expensive new than the upgrade
prices for many other applications). There are an asortment of public
domain maiil converters, and even WinDOZE users teach themselves Eudora in
less than a half hour... what's to know?

LSOFT *may* choose to make life eaier for those stuck with "common
denominator" mail systems, but LSOFT is in no way obliged to accomodate
mail software that fails to comply with (computing time) ancient standards.

If you can't afford Eudora Pro, then use Eudora Lite until you can :-)
