If you can get them to modify the footers, slightly by adding the "-- " on a
line by itself, before the actual header (see my sig line below), then LISTSERV
will understand this as a separator and ignore the footer in commands.  I'm not
sure what will happen in list messages, that will probably still be there and
since it is considered part of the message text the BOTTOM_BANNER will be added
below it. 8-(
