Greetings all,
Question for you: We have an announce-only list that has been secured with send=editor, hold, confirm to prevent posts from nasty folks who might spoof editor e-mail addresses. Is it possible to send a message to a list secured in this way so that the authentication (or confirmation) and send operation are combined into one step? The reason I ask is that we would like to post to this announce-only list using scripts to send e-mail at odd hours (read: before I want to get up to click OK). So it would be great if I could code the script such that the message sent includes a password to authenticate the post so that it goes right though without the "OK" mechanism.
Is this even possible? I have told some of the high-muckety-mucks here that I didn't know if this was possible, and they responded that this is "disappointing" (read: find a way to make this work if you like your job).
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any help,
-- Jim C.
