Could someone clarify for me a question on the use of Farewell messages.
I have a number of cancer mailing lists, and in the setting up of the
latest one - Ovarian Problems - it seems that if a subscriber
UNsubscribes, they do get our farewell message we defined in Listserv.
(That is a great feature, by the way, and we have received many
compliments on having these automated farewell messages). So they get
the farewell and that tells me I have the filelist right, etc.

The question is this: if I as list owner UNsub someone, they do not get
the farewell message! Why? I am NOT using the quiet command; I just 'del'
them from the list, and they do not get the farewell. But I want them to.

If I did not want them to, I would use the 'quiet' prefix to the command.
So, how can I del someone and still trigger the listserv farewell response?

Thanks,

Kevin
