I fear that  there might be a misunderstanding here.  There is ABSOLUTELY
NOTHING  THAT I  OR ANYONE  ELSE  OUTSIDE AOL  CAN  DO to  "fix" the  AOL
problem. LMail can trigger the problem when configured a certain way, but
this is not  the default configuration, and when configured  this way you
can reconfigure it the other way.  The IBM SMTP software can also trigger
this problem  in some scenarios and  you cannot configure it  away. Other
mail servers are also affected. Sure, vendors can be requested to develop
software changes,  and they can be  ordered and installed, but  this is a
slow process. The software in place today is performing as documented and
in full compliance with Internet standards. THIS IS NOT A BUG. The vendor
can just say "Sorry, but AOL is at fault here and we do not agree that it
is a  bug in the software,  which works as documented  and fully complies
with the  relevant standards", and they  will be right. Some  vendors may
not deliver a fix and some people may be probably stuck.
