Eric,

I'm not tremendously savvy about this stuff, but since no one else is answering...

I don't know if you are aware how error messages of this kind are generated. If you are set up to receive the "Daily Error Monitoring Report" (DEMR), what you get is a once daily report of usually all error messages received by the ListServ from service providers, with the content of the full error message much abbreviated. As I understand it, single incident, detailed error messages of the kind you forwarded are generated by the ListServ as soon as received because it thinks it may need special attention from the listowner, for whatever reason.

Usually these messages can be ignored, unless a great number of messages of the same type are received.

Looking through the content of the message, these are significant details:

Message with subject "Thunderstorms" for addressee "[log in to unmask]" could not be be delivered because "Our system has detected that this message is likely unsolicited mail. To reduce the amount of spam sent to Gmail, this message has been blocked."

The message was rejected by Gmail, though the error report is from SMARTH-FACED.ATL.SA.EARTHLINK.NET. Apparently the subscriber, for whatever reason, is subscribed through an Earthlink account, but has forwarding set up to a Gmail account. If you needed to take action because of large numbers of errors of the same type, you could search through your subscriber list to find anyone with an earthlink address with subscriber name "Kristin Hardy", or anything resembling this.

Something in the message was not liked by the Gmail spam filter. The forwarding situation may have boosted the spam score for the ListServ message, and you could get in touch with the subscriber to ask that they subscribe directly through either one of the accounts.

I have been finding that a few service providers are rejecting emails that contain url shorteners. Sometimes these service providers will return error messages to the sender, and sometimes they will not. An example of the latter - I have found legit messages in the spam folder of a list subscription I maintain at Yahoo, just for this purpose - I move such messages from the spam folder to my Inbox, hoping that this will help to re-adjust Yahoo's spam filters, and if it doesn't, at least it makes me feel better. :-)

If not url shorteners, you might look for other content that might cause the message to be rejected. On our prostate cancer list, messages are sometimes rejected as spam because they contain mention of male anatomical parts or ED medications.

But the bottom line is - I wouldn't worry about it unless you get large numbers of similar error messages.
