How is the tally kept for determining when a list has hit its
daily threshold and is placed on automatic hold? I don't mean, how
does one sets the threshold in the list header, that's easy. How
does LISTSERV keep track of how many postings have been distributed that
day?

Is it a totally independent counter, which can't be reset?

Or does it go by how many items are in the notebook log, and the counter
can be reset by editing the log for the day (a weekly log)?

Or does it go by the number of items in the listname.digest, so the
counter can be reset by editing the digest?

How does LISTSERV keep track of the number of items posted per day
so it knows when the treshold has been exceeded so it can place the
list on automatic hold? Douglas
