QUIET only suppresses LISTSERV command responses to the affected
subscribers at the time of issuance; doesn't affect LISTSERV
processing messages when a distribution is attempted by the
user(s).  For that (as mentioned recently) you need to update
your listname MAILTPL file which contains script text for various
LISTSERV processing features e.g., what is sent to the subscriber
in response to subscribing, unsubscribing, etc.  A good followup
source is the List-Owner Manual (command INFO OWNER -- thanks
Nathan!).
