Both IONET.NET and MERCUR.USAO.EDU are e-mailed directly from
[log in to unmask] via its mailer (no distributed
LISTSERVs involved this time) and MAILER is sending via the
local SMTP machine (the default entry).
 
I suspect some sort of SMTP q reordering on TEMPLE as well as
massive amounts of traffic (any SPAMs in progress?).
 
Don't know if MERCUR has undergone any IP address changes
or if its MULTINET is responding fast enough (check with their
sysadmins to see if there are any timing-out connections from
TEMPLE).
