I've been trying and TRYING to get listserv to act on the following
command: q ethic with halacha for *@* or ethic with topics: +halacha
q ethic with topics:+halacha for *@* plus several other variations.
Am I doing something wrong or is it only possible to query for the
basic options of nomail, digest, conceal, and so forth.
I am teaching a partly e-mail course with a colleague from Temple, and
am using the Topics feature to separate the class into several sections
with different faculty leaders. I realize I can manually (well, write
a WordPerfect macro) separate subscribers into their various sections
according to their topics in the global query file I received, BUT
it would be nice to have Temple Listserv do that little chore for
me. BTW, I think this is an unusual application of the TOPICS feature,
and so far it's working well. It allows us to have students/faculty
communicate within small sections AND get everyone involved at other
times.
Thanks, Ingrid Shafer
