Subject: [LSTOWN-L] Help! Edited a .List File and wiped out a Mailing
List.

Hello,

Ok, I did a dumb thing. I had some bad email address in a student
mailing list and could not get rid of them. They were in the format of
first.last@college.. The address was never completed for some reason.

So I found the bad email address in the mailing list's .LIST file and
edited with NotePad. The mailing list disappeared after that and gave
the following error message:

Serious error occurred - traceback follows
------------------------------------------
>>> Error X'00280073' opening file C:\LISTSERV\MAIN\BOGUS_NAME-U.LIST
<<<
-> Severity: Error
-> Facility: LFxxx routines
-> Abstract: Internal file structure corrupted I/O mode: Record read

My question is can I resurrect the Mailing List from the bad .LIST file
or do I need to rebuild that mailing list from scratch?

Any help would be appreciated.
