If you enter the command 'CP QUERY TERMINAL',
you'll find that the "@" character is being used for the 'CHARDEL' function.
So, enter 'CP TERMINAL CHARDEL OFF', and then enter:
  EXEC TELL LISTSERV AT UBVM QUIET DEL COMMODOR username@nodename
and your mainframe **will** send the "@" to LISTSERV at UBVM.
