Addresses can be easily faked or spoofed. Even passwords can be guessed. Only
the challenge and response method that LISTSERV's OK-confirm mechanism uses is
reasonably secure and even it is vulnerable to a wire-tap (have fun tapping an
OC-3 line...) or physical compromise of the sender's machine by unauthorized
persons.
