I have been following the various discussions about the review command.
The concern is, as I understand it, that spammers can take the review
command and get lots of addresses to spam to.  The easiest solution is to
make your list Review= Owner.   The biggest problem with that is that the
subscribers can no longer review the list to find a friends address, for
example.
 
One way to make this work is to have the person who needs an address just
write to the owners, and they look it up.  But now you have created more
work for the owners; not all will like that.
 
A solution would be for LSoft to have a lookup function.  This would be
like the scan command, basically, but you would be limited as to how many
you can issue per day.  Lets say each sending addresses can do up to 3 of
these per day.  That will block out most if not all of the spammers, but
still let an individual get an address of a friend on the list.  So this
solution would keep everyone happy (except the spammers).  Scan will work
only if the list is reviewable by you; this new function would be for
anyone, or at least for any subscriber, and being an email command will
not add any burden to the owners.
