I'm not really sure what you are asking, but, from what I have been told
on this list, you can modify what the "digest index" says by getting,
changing, then putting the "subject" file.
GET listname SUBJECT
edited it, then
PUT listname SUBJECT

Haven't actually tried it myself, and you would have to do it manually for
each digest, but a possibility if else fails.
