US some based private e-mail providers ?
Dear Seniors,
During the past week our request address was approached several
times by private e-mail providers who'd like to redistribute not
only our list traffic but our compiled information too.
There was a case in which a polite no (because of intrinsic
copyright aspects, etc.) was followed by another message stating:
"We are for profit ... and *our* policy *is* to redistribute
lists when a user requires it ..." - and further replies to
that message would bounce, and to the postmaster at the .com
site would bounce too.
What is going on in the US with this sweep-away-piracy ? -And what
can one do to enforce <at least> respect FOR OUR subscribers <whose
rights to their INTELECTUAL PROPERTY and PERSONAL INTEGRITY is being
*deliberately* VIOLATED by some go-for-the-buck electronic-sharks
?>.
Americans connected to Internet -and elsewhere-[and this *is not* a
flame] talk lots about Freedom, Rights and the like and I wonder
w-h-y there have been Americans *only* who'd behave in such a way:
Is not INTELECTUAL PROPERTY considered SO important there ?. There
are private e-mail providers in Europe too but nothing like this has
been detected from them <in my lists at least>.
As a matter of fact: --> I am SICK of this behaviour from US based
(yes, always from US-BASED) private, small e-mail providers. And
this is getting from bad to worse as the list grows and the quality
of traffic and archives get bigger and better.
Is not there any board which checks and tracks any such violations
?. I am sure at this very moment many of these sharks are braking
your very list-site policies and making profit from NON-MERCENARY
efforts AND TAX-PAYERs HARD EARNED CONTRIBUTIONS. BUT what is being
made (if anything at all) to stop this ?.
I would very much appreciate some advice from US based Senior
Listowners on HOW to deal effectively with this.
Thank you for your attention.
