Just an addition to what Norm said.  Keep in mind that some places have
two or more systems (LANs can be very large and they do not have to
meet any one else's standrads).  Address on the lan and Internet address
can be wildly different.  The local folks are supposed to take care of
all the translation stuff, but, um, it doesn't always work that way.
 
Just something to keep in mind if you run out of other options.
