I routinely hold lists without warning at this site, when moving the
archives from a near-full disk to one with more room.  It's infrequent
and fast enough that the users almost never catch me at it.  Ask your
Listmaster, and if you don't get a quick response ("Don't bug me kid,
I'll free it when the fires out...") you should probably try sending
it a free command and see what it says.  There could be a real quota
problem out there and I don't remember if it's reported to the errors-
to address or the non-quiet owners (if they're different).
