what is the build-date of your LISTSERV?  (do a SHOW LICENSE command)

the most recent builds of LISTSERV 1.8d beta include this in a 'customize
layout' button on the WWW List Mangement interface.  If you have the right
browser setup, you can even see the results of your changes 'on-the-fly'.  All
of your above choices (and others) are possible.
