workaround. Will it really work?

You can use a yahoo account from a gmail account if you don't want to
abandon a yahoo account - like maybe you've had that address for a long
time - and you want a single point of access to all of your email. Steps:

- create a gmail account
- sign up for FOODWINE from your new gmail account (first things first)
- do whatever you need to do to enable "POP3" for your yahoo account (you
would normally do this to use Outlook with your yahoo account, for example).
- in gmail, go to Settings and then to the "Account and Import" tab.
- about halfway down you'll see "Check mail from other accounts (using
POP3):", follow the instructions.

Voila, your gmail account is now the email client for your yahoo account.
