This is not quite true. AOL software will rename the attached file, including
large digests which have been transformed into a file attachment, by
substitiuting a number for a letter in the file name. However, it is true
that it is a confusing system for novices and inconvenient for all.
 
"Flash sessions" will download attached files, but you must configure your
mail to do this automatically, other wise "Flash sessions" will only download
the mail items.
