If you've got a Email discussion list that you're building, and
you want to drive its membership up, here are some thoughts:

1. Mention your list in a relevant usenet newsgroup or ask your
list membership to do this for you.

2. Promote your subscribe address in your SIG line.

3. Put up a web site for your list. 35-40% of new subs can and
will come from your web site.

4. Put up a web archive for your list, and have subscribe
instructions on the site. This adds major value for your existing
list members, and invites others to join.

5. Promote your list as a solution to problems that others mention
on similar discussion lists.

6. Create a paper flyer that gives the benefits of your Email
discussion list, and stuff it with your invoices to your customers
if you're in business....or pass out the flyer when you give
seminars or classes or ANYPLACE that is appropriate to share with
others.

7. Register your list with every major list of lists, plus any
specialty list of lists that your list would belong in....
