Well I was hit eight times (lstown-l and 7 lists I own). I have already
written to the postmaster@netcom saying that if they can't control their
users then I will be seriously considering putting a global filter on
all netcom users.
 
Its not that I think that netcom users are particularly bad (obviously
they aren't), but Netcom has to take responsibility them. People who spam
should be liable by law for breech of contract with their service providers. If
netcom (or aol, prodigy etc.) can't create such a clause in its contracts and
follow through when contracts are broken then I will not be willing to forward
on any messages from netcom users. Let them complain to netcom then go
elsewhere if they aren't happy with netcom's service.
 
Its not enough simply to kick off a spammer - its all too easy to get
another account somewhere else. Legal action must be taken by the
provider to act as a reasonable deterent.
