Why?  If someone sends mail to the decommissioned list, it will bounce
whether those aliases are there or not.  The question is simply whether
sendmail bounces it or LISTSERV bounces it.  The LISTSERV bounce in this
case might be more informative since it tells you the list you are
writing to does not exist.  The sendmail bounce will just say "no such
user".

Certainly you <can> remove them if you want but there is no operational
reason to do so, short of just not bothering LISTSERV with the occasional
message to a list that doesn't exist.
