As owner of Travel-L, I must "set travel-L nomail for ..." for about 5 or
6 people a day, and delete a few too. Often enough, one of them will
write back a few days later wanting to know why I took them off, or shut
off their mail. These are legitimate concerns, I believe. However, I
then have to go back to my handwritten notes, find the user, the date,
and what little I managed to preserve of the error message on paper.
When I send the set nomail's and deletes, is there anyway to insert comments
in the file so I could preserve a brief note of why I did what I did, e.g.,
set travel-L nomail for [log in to unmask]
* joe ran out of disk space
delete travel-L [log in to unmask]
* mary is an unknown user
If there is a magic starting character, or characters, I could also start
my signature file with it/them to cover those bad days when I forget to
shut off the signature inclusion on the files back to the listserv.
Thank you.
