Dear LSTOWN-L readers,

A list for which I'm editor is set up so that people posting get a message
back requiring them to click on a link, or reply with "OK", to confirm that
the message originated with them. This set-up is to reduce, and preferably
eliminate completely, inappropriate messages from coming to my attention.
But in the last few days, I've got three spam messages in my inbox to
confirm. Perhaps the individuals responsible did in fact get a message back
to "approve" their posts and clicked to confirm. However, I have read
somewhere that spammers have figured out how to defeat this function.

Any comments? Anything I can do to get this stopped? Below are the
addresses from which the spam messages were sent, with the subject lines.

Thanks - Ian
