The reason you are having a problem is because you have set USERID="GCFI"
in go.user, and you are running in NETWORKED runmode without having
registered your server. If you were running with USERID="LISTSERV" (the
default), this would not be causing a problem. Since, hmm, 1.8d I think,
if your server doesn't run with USERID="LISTSERV", you have to be
registered in order to participate fully in the LISTSERV inter-server
communication network.

You have two choices:

1) Run in STANDALONE mode (by setting RUNMODE="STANDALONE" in go.user and
stopping and restarting LISTSERV to pick up the change), which tells
LISTSERV to behave as if it is the only server in the network, and stops it
from sending out these inter-server updates; or

2) Register your server using the form at http://www.lsoft.com/regform.html .

Of course, if it's possible, you can also change USERID back to the default
and avoid doing either of those. But it sounds like you installed LISTSERV
to run under the "gcfi" userid rather than making and using a "listserv"
userid, so that may not be practical at this point.

I'm guessing in your case that solution #1 would probably be the simplest
option.
