I think it was. It's been a long time since 1.8d, so it's hard to 
remember that far back, but I've been working with LISTSERV since 
1.8c, and I don't remember a time when HOST:PORT was _not_ supported 
(but I don't know at what point I started using that specific 
feature, so I won't swear to it).

If you're planning on using IIS SMTP, _that_ might be a problem on NT 
4.0. I don't think NT 4.0 let you set IIS SMTP to listen to a 
different port. (I could be wrong about that too).
