I've done it on 4.0A, and it's pretty painless. Make sure to read **all**
the documentation, including (especially) the release notes. In the
installation file (ftp://ftp.lsoft.com/LISTSERV/UNIX/01-install.txt) the
section that will help you most is three from the end, titled
"Upgrading your LISTSERV installation"
