A separate DISTRIBUTE server would certainly :
- be 'lighter', in terms of resources needed;
- need minimum maintenance, since there would be no lists to maintain.
And so, it would  probably be easier to convince lots of  sites to install one,
because the net gain would be more obvious...       /AF
