I was just looking through all the sites that took us up on the Free
Maestro license to the first 100 sites that upgrade to 14.4 (offer is
still open), and I noticed that only Windows, Linux, and Solaris
sites took advantage of the offer.

Now, those 3 operating systems happen to make up the majority of
LISTSERV customers, but I got to wondering whether the sites with
"other" operating systems thought that since Maestro is only
available on Windows, Linux, and Solaris (and now Mac), that the
offer did not really apply to them.

So I just wanted to point out to you folks running on "other"
operating systems: the only OS that this offer does not apply to is
VM, and that's because of the lack of TCPIP support on VM. You can
have a Maestro running on Windows, Linux, Solaris, or Mac talking to
LISTSERV running on OpenVMS, FreeBSD, HP-UX or any of the other
operating systems, except for VM.

LISTSERV and the Maestro interface don't *have* to be running on the
same system or even on the same OS. Certain features may be
unavailable under those conditions (for example Maestro-backed
LISTSERV lists require that LISTSERV have access to the database, and
that access is not available for every supported DBMS on every
operating system), but the features that are there are still worth
it.

I just thought I'd mention that before the Windows, Linux, and
Solaris crowd gobbles up all the free licenses due to a
misunderstanding.

Offer is at:
