We don't recommend deleting the changelog while LISTSERV is running.
However, without being able to give you any details about the 1.8e
release date, I will tell you that in 1.8e you will be able to specify
rotation periods for changelogs, with granularity down to DAILY. So
if you can hang in there a while longer, it may save you the trouble
of writing the script.
