I have one that I could have ready in a couple of days. I need to get
a release clarification first. This will create a new list on an
existing UNIX LISTSERV. I have other scripts for moving lists from
VM to UNIX which is a different set of problems.

It is in PERL and works in two parts. The first part is a perl program
that builds the alias file, runs the newaliases program and creates a
directory entry for the archive files of the list. It accepts the name
of the new list as a command line parameter. The second program is a
little more tricky (acutally I learned this from Listproc). I have a
an alias called 'newlist' which is a pipe to another Perl program of
the same name. I mail the header of the new list to the alias. The
program does some error checking(only accepts mail from certain people,
adds the password, etc) and mails it to the LISTSERV with 'fake'
mail as me, one of the postmasters. The program notifies the listmasters
of the new list and even automatically sends a notification to the new
owner that their list is ready.
