Well, there was this:
listserv% ls -l home/list
-rw-r----- 1 root listserv 10644 Feb 4 09:49 home/list
I moved the file out of Listserv's directory and restarted Listserv, but
the error persists. [ And the sysadm who likes to administer Listserv as
root (and leave cruft lying around Listserv's directories) has been
flogged. ]
