I have   been  asked  to   get  some  statistics   on   spam blocking,
specifically what other "peer institutions" are  doing.  If you are at
a public (state) university in the US, could you please drop me a note
regarding your site's  policies?  Do you  block known spam sites?   If
so, how (IP  filtering, or domain filtering  at your mail hub machine,
etc), and have you had any problems?

If I receive sufficient responses, I'll post a statistical summary in
a week or so...
