Turgut, why are you sending the LISTEARN code to sites like CEARN and
LEPICS which have NOT signed the LISTEARN agreement, and WITHOUT WARNING?
There are 25 sites which signed the LISTEARN agreement, minus 6 running
1.6, so you should have distributed your code to 19 sites. You seem to
have distributed it also to the 17 sites which are running 1.5o but have
not signed the LISTEARN agreement, ie almost TWICE the number of sites.
Unless you did it on purpose, you should have noticed it as you prepared
the list! Even if you didn't, you should have seen your mistake
immediately when you got the note from LISTSERV@LEPICS saying "Unknown
command - INSTALL", on the 15th of march, ie almost 1 week ago. You
should have IMMEDIATELY warned all the sites in question, using your
PHONE if necessary, so that they could take immediate action to prevent
the installation of LISTEARN on their machine - as you know, some of
these sites have defined you as LMC so that you can update their copy of
PEERS NAMES, and their servers would then accept updates from you.

Do you realize what would have happened if there had not been queues at
TREARN, and the code had been installed too quickly for me to notice your
mistake? People would have had to restore the code from a backup while
preserving the current data files (and that is assuming that LISTEARN 1.0
does not change any of the data files in a way that makes it impossible
to go back to 1.5o, otherwise it becomes a nightmare!). And what if one
of these sites made a mistake while restoring, and ran a mixture of 1.5o
and 1.0???

Anyway, if you are running 1.5o and have not signed the LISTEARN
contract, please purge all the files called LISTEARn JOB in USER hold
status from the reader of your LISTSERV; this will cause the installation
to fail with a "missing spool file" error.
